The events

All events are at JACK 505 1/2 Waverly Ave, Brooklyn NY 11238 between Fulton St. and Atlantic Ave. in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. Unless otherwise indicated, events are donation/pass the hat only, no one turned away for lack of cash. Please check out our access page for accessibility details. 

Monday  2/13 7 pm FAT IMAGINATION a night of fat storytellers curated by Hana Malia and Glenn Marla. $5-$15 with proceeds going to support Organ Recital and an accessible night for all performers. No turned away for lack of funds.

Tuesday  2/14 7 pm I Love My Pre-Existing Condition stories of the impact of the ACA produced by Stephanie Schroeder and Ashley Young. Five bucks at the door to support the storytellers and the festival . No one turned away for lack of funds.

Wednesday 2/15 7 pm Jes Tom presents What Is A Body (comedic storytelling)

Thursday 2/16 6 pm You are SO BRAVE: Kay Ulanday Barrett presents a writing workshop for those who are sick, disabled, & in chronic pain. Queer, GNC, & Trans community especially uplifted during this experience.$10-30 admission, no one turned away.

Thursday 2/16 8 pm Death. It’s For Every Body, an evening of storytelling about death curated by Kay Ulanday Barrett and Kelli Dunham.

Fri 2/17 7 pm CURE THIS: Healthcare Providers’ Stories About Fighting for Justice THIS EVENT IS POSTPONED UNTIL MARCH BECAUSE OF THE CALLED FOR GENERAL STRIKE.

Saturday 2/18 6.30 pm Queer Memoir: How We Survived (and Didn’t) Doors open at 6.30 pm, storytellers start at 7 pm. Bring fun snacks for our snack potluck!

Saturday 2/18 9:30 pm Rodent Monologues: How My Body Survived on NYC’s Streets by Jay Toole..this event supports Jay’s work and we’ll be charging $20 at the door, all of which will go direct to Jay. 

Sunday 2/19 4 pm You Don’t Have to Love Your Body to Take Care Of It: Brainstorming the Workaround (workshop for anyone who struggles to take care of their own health) With Elana Lancaster and Kelli Dunham

Sunday 2/19 7 pm Take Two Storytelling curated by Elana Lancaster and Harvey Katz
